SIGEP continues to amaze (Rimini Expo)

42nd International Trade Show of Artisan Gelato, Pastry, Bakery and the Coffee World

It’s well known that we faithfully follow trends and old habits, so this year we visited SIGEP 2020 in our beloved city of Rimini. The fair was held from 18 to 22/01/2020.

SIGEP is the world’s leading B2B exhibition that covers 129,000 m2 and it offers the latest and best trends in the global market. World class excellence is presented and rewarded in one place. Global networking is being improved, and businesses and professionals are supporting each others growth and expansion.

Our team of top bar professionals set out to explore new ideas. What did they get to see?

Five themed routes, divided into separate business sectors offering:

  • coffee
  • chocolate
  • pastries
  • syrups
  • bar equipment
  • ice cream and more.

Never enough sweets!

In the traditional ice cream department, we found the world’s largest concentration of companies in this sector.

SIGEP is a global business platform where professionals and operators from seven continents come together to enjoy a unique, inspiring sensory experience with the world’s leading brands in the dessert business.

This is where all participants in the supply chain meet: craftsmen, distributors, manufacturers, associations and the media.

The fair is held every year, and the date for the next year has already been announced: 16.-20.1.2021.

Announcements for the 2020 trends 

Numerous exhibitors sought their place at the expo, and had the opportunity to try their hand at competing in various categories. In addition, we sat down and listened to a few lectures on new trends announced for 2020.

ODK showcased their cocktail products and their continued taste development, and the progress they had in the hot drinks and barista world is definitely at an enviable level.

At SIGEP, you could also find ingredients and semi-finished products of a world scale, presenting the latest and most innovative technologies and trends in Italian-style retail categories.

We saw the entire supply of baking, pastry and pizza. Starting from ingredients, semi-finished products and complete technology, then from machines to systems and equipment. Truly an exclusive range that defines new trends, and the focus is always on innovation.

The coffee department also delighted us!

Information was provided on plantations around the world, numerous coffee processing techniques, and tasting was organised.

All the manufacturers and technologies of the Espresso word were all in one place. The prestigious Italian brands have presented a complete range of products for bars, cafes and pastry shops (ice cream, coffee, bakery products) with a clear focus on the connectivity of different product groups.

Ceado presented their new professional appliances. Over 50 years of Italian ingenuity, design and well-organized production have shaped their coffee grinders, bar appliances and machines for squeezing natural juices.
